The heart of Dance Place resides in linking Arts, Education and Community in a diverse atmosphere of nurturing support. Dance Place has served the greater DC metropolitan area for 21 years in 3 capacities: theater, school and community resource, serving youth, families and adults while simultaneously growing our reputation as a national and international presenter of high acclaim. Through community initiatives, presentation of local artists, diverse cultural programming, model education programs, co-presentations with other non-profits, free or affordable tickets and a dedicated staff, Dance Place has become an important thread in the city’s cultural fabric.

The Program Committee of the Board of Directors, along with select staff members, collaborate to complete the artist selection process for each season. Major review of materials occurs in December, and the season is finalized in March. The Dance Place Theatre’s primary focus is dance, with occasional presentation of music, performance art and spoken word.
