DiverseWorks is a nonprofit art center dedicated to presenting new visual, performing, and literary art. DiverseWorks is a place where the process of creating art is valued and where artists can test new ideas in the public arena. By encouraging the investigation of current artistic, cultural and social issues, DiverseWorks builds, educates and sustains audiences for contemporary art.

DiverseWorks presents all forms of contemporary performance from dance to puppetry, music to spoken word. The Performing Arts Director selects out-of-town artists and local and regional artists through programs such as the Houston Performing Arts Residencies, which are selected by a panel of local and regional artists and arts administrators. DiverseWorks programs events from a year to three years in advance.
