El Centro Su Teatro is a multi-disciplinary Chicano/Latino cultural arts center that produces and presents work that speaks to the Chicano/Latino experience. Su Teatro the resident theater company is the third oldest Chicano theater group, and traces its roots to the Chicano Civil Rights Movement. El Centro, while having a strong theatrical bent, also presents music, poetry, visual and film artists.

Artists for El Centro Su Teatro’s season are usually chosen 2 years in advance. El Centro is interested in productions that are organically grown, which means it stems from a community. Although all production need not be Latino, there is a strong interest in supporting work with social justice issues and by artists of color, and also artists who work with youth. Artists are requested to send a video (short clip) and print information (reviews, synopsis and b&w) in the spring two years before the year they wish to be considered; therefore, work in development as well as currently touring productions will be considered.
