The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center is the largest performing arts center in the Southeast, and is consistently ranked among the top ten performing arts centers in the nation in terms of size, budget, number of theatres, number of performances, and attendance. With four state-of-the-art theatres under one roof, The Center presents and produces shows ranging from full-scale touring Broadway productions and grand operas to full-length plays and intimate performance art. All performing arts disciplines are represented at The Center with more than 700 performances serving over 700 000 people each year. High priority is given to The Center’s cultural enrichment and arts education programs for school children. The Center’s 30+ education programs serve approximately 100,000 students of all ages annually, and, as of the fall of 2004, will be housed in the new Dr. Pallavi Patel Conservatory for the Performing Arts on The Center’s main campus.

The Center’s core programming staff plans and selects its artistic offerings and projects, which include all performing arts disciplines. Artists are considered through agencies, auditions, and professional networking.
