NPAC Activities (NPN Partners, Board, Artists, and Staff)
The NPAC meeting will provide many opportunities for conversation and inquiry with our national colleagues and sister National Service Organizations. Make sure to look at the incredible schedule of NPAC events. Below, find a listing of NPAC events we are asking you to attend as well as the schedule of activities that are specific to NPN attendees. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the following activities:
NPAC Opening Plenary
Wednesday June 11 2:00-3:30pm
Performance by Anna Deveare Smith
Three inspiring stories of successful community-building with the arts, from 3 distinct perspectives featuring: Lousiana’s Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu; Oregon Shakespeare Festival artistic director Bill Rauch; and Denver’s Mayor John Hickenlooper. These discussions will lay the foundation for ideas that will be discussed and challenged throughout the Convention.
AmericaSPEAKS Caucuses (NPN Partners, Staff & Artists)
Wednesday June 11 from 4:00-5:30pm
Thursday June 12 from 10:00-11:30am
Friday June 13 from 10:00-11:30am
These caucuses are designed to generate ideas toward an action agenda, which will come together Saturday morning during the 21st Century Town Meeting.
Groups will be gathered in roundtables of ten, each engaging in facilitated cross-disciplinary conversations to identify goals and action steps toward a vital performing arts future. Each caucus will have a core question and a specific outcome, and the responses of all the tables will be completed and analyzed daily and shared back to the full convention to form the basis of the following day’s work.
A 21st Century Town Meeting (NPN Partners, Staff & Artists)

This Town Meeting will take the ideas that have surfaced int eh caucuses toward action! The paths to the future we hope for the performing arts will be explored and voted upon by thousands of your peers, each with an individual touch pad. Results will be projected instantly on large video screens in order to identify and hone an agenda to be ratified and put into action by our unified performing arts community.
